Polgar has pushed the notion of digital citizenship — an awareness of the virtues, dangers and duties that come with using the internet and social media. He has twice hosted the Digital Citizenship Summit, held in its inaugural year at the University of St. Joseph and at Twitter's San Francisco headquarters in 2016. He's also co-founder of a monthly comedy show called " Funny as Tech" that wrestles with the absurdities of modern technology and is the chief of trust and safety for the social messaging platform Friendbase.

DRP: "Most individuals online don't seem to be aware that they're interacting within a for-profit company," said Polgar. "If you're in a restaurant, you know that the waiter is nice to you because he wants a bigger tip. You understand the dynamics, whereas I think with social media we sometimes think of it as just there. And that it's all for your own good."

DRP: "The future is still our solution," he said. "Oftentimes, we like to think that the future is happening to us, that tech is being released and there's nothing we can do about it. And that's completely not true."
