Hartford’s Newest Coworking Space Debuts

Annisa Teich • Sep 24, 2019

West Hartford Coworking has doubled its footprint at 430 New Park Avenue.

The new owners of West Hartford Coworking have moved the shared office business into a larger space sitting on the municipal border with Hartford.

Co-owner Annisa Teich, who, alongside her mother, Annette Farese, purchased the business earlier this year from its co-founder, said the coworking operation reopened last week after extensive renovations were made to the 4,000-square-foot space at 430 New Park Ave. in Hartford.

Its new home resides in an office building owned and occupied by the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors. West Hartford Coworking was formerly housed in about half the space on Farmington Avenue in West Hartford Center.

There are 29 members that have joined the new Hartford site, including the majority of tenants from its shared space in West Hartford.

Teich said West Hartford Coworking for the first time is providing private offices, in addition to a living room, board room, two lounge areas, a kitchen/cafe, coffee bar and open space that can be rearranged for event use, among other flexible spaces.

Two of the six private offices, at a starting price of $750 a month, are currently occupied by consulting agency The Bolder Company and Northeast National Brokerage, she said.

Teich has also relocated The Small Business Collective, a low-cost marketing and business development firm serving independent entrepreneurs, makers, startups and small businesses, from Farmington Avenue to the new Hartford site.

“It seems the draw of a beautiful new space that is truly our own, a hot new neighborhood and free parking were hard to resist,” Teich said last week. “We have a handful of tours this week and hope to add to all of our membership levels.

The shared office will be on display Oct. 3 during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Hartford Mayor Luke Bronin and West Hartford Mayor Shari Cantor.

Founded in Oct. 2017, West Hartford Coworking is part of a growing network of shared office spaces in Greater Hartford.
