West Hartford Coworking Expands with Move to 430 New Park

West Hartford Coworking • Jun 22, 2019

Doubling Square Footage and Doubling Down on Small Business Services

After nearly three years in West Hartford Center, West Hartford Coworking will move across town to 430 New Park Avenue where they will expand their footprint to more than 4,000 sq.ft., complete with private offices, lounge, free coffee bar and cafe area, and free parking available in its spacious lot.

“We’ve grown out of our current space and want to continue with the trajectory of the business by providing our members with the affordable coworking amenities and personalized customer service they have come to expect from us,” says Co-Owner and Managing Director, Annisa Teich. “While we sought to stay in West Hartford Center, and even within the town of West Hartford, we found the right space at the right price with the right partners at 430 New Park.”

430 New Park is owned and occupied by the Greater Hartford Association of REALTORS®. Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation and Summit Technologies are also tenants. The line between Hartford and West Hartford goes right through the property, but the building’s address is in Hartford. “While I was initially concerned, I realize a name is just a name and we are, in fact, still in Western Hartford,” says Teich, ”For many of our current and prospective members, the Hartford address is actually a benefit in applying for city and state-funded grants that are more difficult to qualify for with a West Hartford zip.”

“We are very excited to welcome Annisa, Annette, and West Hartford Coworking to 430 New Park Ave” says Holly Callanan, CEO of the Greater Hartford Association of REALTORS®. “I knew this would be an ideal situation from the minute we met. The nature of her business is very much in line with our mission to serve our REALTOR® members in that they are all independent contractors who are on the road most of the time, but may need a desk once in a while to prepare a contract or listing presentation, or a meeting space for a closing. We also share a common goal of revitalizing the neighborhood and improving the quality of life for the New Park Ave community. With Annisa’s high-energy and creativity, and our dedicated staff and members, this partnership was a no-brainer and the possibilities are endless.”

Alongside the move, West Hartford Coworking is expanding its offering to include 6 private offices, open space for events, a large training room, and extended boardroom - all bookable by both members and the public. Private offices start at $750 per month, Dedicated Desk membership will drop to $325 per month, and conference room rates will also drop to $35 per hour in the new space.

“Unlike other area spaces that gravitate toward a more modern, even industrial look, our members are looking for the comforts of home, away from home,” says Teich, “The new look will mimic a well-designed living room with velvet tufted couches, antique-style area rugs, and no shortage of color.”

Bromleigh Ventures - helmed by mother-daughter duo Annette Farese and Annisa Teich - purchased West Hartford Coworking from John Vasellina of Sorrento LLC in March with the goal of layering space-based membership with small business services. As part of this move, West Hartford Coworking will offer monthly services to members and the public such as Website Management, Bookkeeping, Virtual Assistant and Secretarial Services, Social Media Management, and more. "The space has naturally created a hub for area small businesses and entrepreneurs but these services will further support their growth and help launch new businesses as well," says Co-Owner Annette Farese, "It's the kind of support I wish my husband and I had in building our businesses many years ago."

Farese and Teich anticipate 90% of the current member base will join them in the new space, and some [art-time members have already voiced interest in upgrading their membership thanks to the cost savings a free parking lot will provide.

Among those joining West Hartford Coworking in the move across town are Jenny Drescher and Ellen Feldman-Ornato of The Bolder Company, who will occupy one of the exterior offices. New members also include Shawna Kitzman, Ashley Rigby and Teri Michaud of the Jam Program, who are recent graduates of the reSET Impact Accelerator.

Long-time member Maggie Beattie Roberts says, “As an independent literacy consultant and writer, West Hartford Coworking provides support for the many aspects of my job - a dedicated writing desk, conference rooms for meetings and recording podcasts, and like-minded colleagues to share small business tips and connections. As a small business owner, I’m thrilled to add my support by moving across town to join with others who are creating community and providing services in the New Park neighborhood."
